Cal State LA Athletics

2013: Had a second solid season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Made 11 relief appearances. Went 2-2 with a 6.28 earned run average and had one save. Walked eight and struck out six in 14 1/3 innings pitched. Tossed two hitless innings of relief to get the win in a 6-4 victory at Sonoma State on April 19. Picked up a win in his next appearance after allowing no runs on one hit over a season-long 2 1/3 innings in an 8-5 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 27. Didn't allow a run over the final 1 2/3 innings of a 7-4 win at Cal State Stanislaus on March 9 for his lone save of the season. Pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Sonoma State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game against Sonoma State on May 10 in his final appearance of the season. Allowed one earned run or less in nine of 11 outings. For his career, appeared in 26 games with three starts. Had a 5-6 record with a 6.53 earned run average and four saves. Walked 33 and struck out 32 in 41 1/3 innings pitched. 

2012: Made 15 appearances in his first year with the program, including three starts. Had a 3-4 record with a 6.67 earned run average. Shared the team lead in saves with three. Picked up his first win in relief in a 10-8 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 17. Picked up a pair of saves against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 24-25 and got his third save at San Francisco State on March 4. Picked up two wins in relief against Cal Poly Pomona on April 20 and 22. Didn’t allow a run in seven appearances.

At Cabrillo College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was a pre-season All-American. Had a 5-4 record with a 2.65 earned run average. Made 14 appearances and 11 starts. Led the team with 71 1/3 innings pitched. Also pitched for one season at San Jose City College. Had a 1-1 record with a 4.23 earned run average. Made 10 appearances and three starts. Had 23 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings pitched.

At Soquel High School: Earned first-team All-League honors three times and was the All-County Pitcher of the Year as a junior.

Personal: Son of Wayne and Lauri Morgan. Majoring in business-entrepreneurship. Enjoys disc golf, golf and wakeboarding. Lists playing high school baseball in Maui as his most exciting experience in sports. Has a cousin, Natalie, who plays volleyball at Oregon State and a sister, Bria, who plays volleyball at Hawaii Hilo.
