Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Was a main contributor out of the bullpen once again for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Made 14 relief appearances and had a 1-0 record with a 4.38 earned run average. Pitched a total of 12 1/3 innings with six walks and 18 strikeouts. Retired the only batter he faced and got the win in a 6-5 victory over Sonoma State on Feb. 24. Struck out a season-high three in one inning at San Francisco State on Feb. 27. Pitched a season-long 1 2/3 innings and didn't allow a hit or an earned run to pick up a save in a 6-2 victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 5. For his career, appeared in 32 games, all in relief. Had a 5-1 record with a 4.55 earned run average and three saves. Had 22 walks and 39 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings pitched. 

2014: Was a major contributor in the bullpen in his first year of competition for the Golden Eagles. Made 18 appearances, all in relief, and compiled a 4-1 record with two saves and a 4.66 earned run average. Picked up his first win for the Golden Eagles by pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three in a 4-3 win over Sonoma State on Feb. 15. Picked up the win in relief of a 12-11 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 22 and blanked Cal State Stanislaus for one inning and struck out one in a 7-6 win on March 3. Also got the win in the second game of a doubleheader against Cal State Stanislaus later that day. Picked up saves in wins over Cal State San Bernardino on March 29 and Cal State Dominguez Hills on May 1.Did not allow a run in 11 appearances.

2013: Did not compete for the Golden Eagles and was a red-shirt.

At Indiana University: Made 12 appearances, including one start, in his two seasons with the Hoosiers. Made four relief appearances in 2012 and struck out six in 4 2/3 innings. Made eight appearances with one start in 2011. Had nine strikeouts in seven innings. Made his collegiate debut by striking out the lone batter he faced against Oregon State on Feb. 27. Did the same against Central Michigan on March 12. Had a perfect inning of relief against Northern Kentucky on March 29 with a pair of strikeouts.

At Rancho Buena Vista High School: Competed in baseball, cross country and track and field. Was 7-3 as a senior and struck out 65 in 63 1/3 innings. Was named the team’s Pitcher of the Year. Was a two-time CIF All-Academic Team selection in 2009 and 2010. Struck out 62 batters in 51 innings as a junior and helped his team to the CIF San Diego Section finals. Played in the 2009 Goodwill Games and the 2009 California Baseball Coaches Association North-South Game.

Personal: Son of Randy and Jana Reznicek. Majoring in business marketing. Enjoys golf, fishing and music. Gained national notoriety as part of the Rancho Buena Vista team that advanced to the 2005 Little League World Series United States finals. Lists playing in the 2005 Little League World Series for the West as his most exciting experience in sports.
