Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had another productive season in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 17 games and started twice. Hit .304 with seven hits in 23 at bats. Had two home runs, five runs scored and five runs driven in. Hit a pinch-hit home run to account for Cal State LA's only run against California Baptist on Feb. 7. Also had a pinch-hit home run against UC San Diego on May 1. Went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI against Cal State Monterey Bay on March 21. For his career, appeared in 45 games and started 23 times. Hit .180 with 18 hits in 100 at bats. Had two home runs with 13 runs scored and eight RBI. 

2014: Appeared in 28 games in his first year with the program, including 21 starts. Hit .143 with 11 hits in 77 at bats. Went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a 12-2 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 23. Also went 2-for-2 at San Francisco State on April 11. Went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI at San Francisco State on April 13. Hit safely in nine games.

At Long Beach State: Appeared in 70 games and started 45 times in two seasons at Long Beach State. Started in 14 of 24 Big West Conference games as a freshman in 2012 and hit .313. Was named the Big West Player of the Week on April 30 following a big series against Cal State Northridge. Drove in six runs in the series, going 4-for-5 with three RBI in the first game and hitting a three-run home run in the finale. Was a late-season starter in the outfield. Appeared in 39 games and started 25 times as a sophomore in 2013. Went 12-for-78 with one home run and seven RBI.

At Downey High School: Was a two-time first-team All-San Gabriel Valley League selection and a team MVP. Earned first-team All-CIF honors as a junior and senior. Hit .377 with six doubles, seven triples and eight home runs as a junior and hit .367 with eight doubles and six triples as a senior.

Personal: Son of Albert and Fabby Guerra. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys the beach, movies, cliff jumping and rock climbing. Lists hitting a walk-off double to get into the CIF playoffs during his senior year in high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
