2016: Made seven appearances for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Went 0-0 with a 17.61 earned run average. Pitched a total of 7 2/3 innings and had eight walks and seven strikeouts. Tossed a scoreless inning against British Columbia on Feb. 20 and pitched a scoreless inning of relief at Stanislaus State on March 12. Also contributed at the plate for the Golden Eagles and went 2-for-5 with four runs batted in at Cal State San Bernardino on May 7. Also contributed and scored a pair of runs as a pinch runner. Went 2-for-5 with three runs scored on the season. For his career, made 35 appearances on the mound with five starts. Had a 2-5 record with a 9.53 earned run average. Had 47 walks and 41 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings.

2015: Made six appearances for the Golden Eagles, all in relief, as a junior. Allowed only four earned runs over his final five appearances covering 9 2/3 innings. Finished the season with a 0-0 record and a 9.58 earned run average. Pitched three scoreless innings against British Columbia on Feb. 14. Also tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings with four strikeouts against Azusa Pacific on March 10.

2014: Battled through injuries for much of the season, but still made 10 appearances, including a pair of starts. Finished the season with a 0-3 record and a 10.88 earned run average. Blanked Sonoma State over two innings of a 10-4 win on Feb. 15 and held UC San Diego to one hit and no runs over two innings in a 2-0 loss on April 5. Threw a total of 22 1/3 innings and had nine walks and 12 strikeouts.

2013: Had a strong beginning to his Golden Eagle career as a true freshman. Made 12 appearances, including three starts, and posted a 2-2 record with a 6.75 earned run average. Picked up his first win with four shutout innings in an 8-1 win at Cal State Stanislaus on March 10. Pitched a season-high six innings and allowed only three hits and two runs in a 14-2 win at Cal State San Bernardino on March 30. Also threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief in a 9-5 win at Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 21.

At Temecula Valley High School: Earned the principal’s award all four years in high school. Competed in baseball and football. Earned first-team All-Valley and first-team All-League honors in 2012. Was the team’s Pitcher of the Year and also earned second-team All-CIF honors. Received second-team All-League honors as a junior and was the team’s Defensive Player of the Year.

Personal: Son of Rick and Tiffany Cavazos. Majoring in business. Enjoys playing all sports and hanging out with friends. Lists winning the Southwest League championship in his senior year at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium and playing in the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, Fla. in 2010 and 2011 as his most exciting experiences in sports.
