Cal State LA Athletics

2017: Had a second tremendous season with the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention for a second straight season. Appeared in 48 games and started all of them. Hit .317 with 63 hits in 199 at bats. Had four home runs, seven doubles, three triples, 38 runs batted in and 46 runs scored. Led the team in runs scored and in triples and was third in RBI and fourth in batting average. Went 3-for-6 with a career-high four runs scored and three RBI in a win over Cal Poly Pomona on March 11. Had a sensational four-game series against Cal State Dominguez Hills, collecting three hits in each game and going 12-for-20 overall. Had 21 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit games  For his career, appeared in 94 games, all starts. Hit .294 with 113 hits in 385 at bats. Had seven home runs, 18 doubles, 6 triples, 57 RBI and 77 runs scored.

2016: Had an outstanding season with the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Earned All-CCAA honorable mention. Led the team with 31 runs scored and 17 stolen bases. Also led the team with three home runs. Had an outstanding defensive year as well and committed only two errors in 109 total chances in the outfield. Finished the season with a seven-game hitting streak. Went 12-of-31 with 12 runs scored and five RBI during the stretch. Went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI against Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 28. Went 2-for-3 with a season-high three runs scored at UC San Diego on March 4. Also scored three runs at Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 30. Hit his first home run with a solo shot against Point Loma on Feb. 13. Also hit a solo home run at Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 30. Had 15 multi-hit games, including five of his last seven starts.

At Fresno City College: Hit .320 during his two seasons. Earned first-team All-Conference honors in 2014-15.

At Central East High School: Earned first-team All-Conference honors and hit .335 in high school.

Personal: Son of Rick and Sandra Navarrete. Majoring in liberal studies. Enjoys billiards and family barbeques. Lists making it to the Final Four with Fresno City College as his most exciting experience in sports.
