Cal State LA Athletics

2018: Made significant contributions once again for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 23 games with 14 starts. Hit .241 with 13 hits in 54 at bats. Had a pair of doubles, one triple, seven runs batted in and eight runs scored. Was also 3-for-3 in stolen-base attempts. Went 2-for-4 with a career-high three RBI in a 4-3 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 15. Hit a run-scoring triple in the sixth inning to provide the winning run. Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in both games of a doubleheader against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 17. Also drove in a pair of runs in the nightcap in an 11-7 victory. Had four multi-hit games. For his career, appeared in 71 games and started 39 times. Hit .264 with 38 hits in 144 at bats. Scored 24 runs and had 10 RBI. 

2017: Had a second solid season with the program. Appeared in 19 games with six starts. Hit .261 with six hits in 23 at bats. Scored five runs and drove in two. Had one multi-hit game, a 2-for-3 performance with one run against Cal State San Marcos on May 5.

2016: Was one of the team’s best hitters in his first year with the program. Hit .284 with 19 hits in 67 at bats. Scored 11 runs. Had a season-high three hits and drove in a run at Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 27. Also had two hits and scored a run against Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 28. Also had two hits and scored a run at Stanislaus State on March 12. Had four multi-hit games.

At University of Utah: Attended the Division I university for one year.

At Crespi High School: Was ranked in the top-500 nationally by Perfect Game and was among the top 100 outfielders. Ranked in the top 75 among California players and 11^th among outfielders by Perfect Game. Also competed in football.

Personal: Son of Arnett and Marla Johnson. Majoring in communications. Enjoys playing Fifa. Lists hitting a go-ahead RBI double against his rival school as his most exciting experience in sports. Says “you’ll never see 5 stretch.”
