Summary

Biography

2018: Was a big part of Cal State LA's bullpen once again in his second and final year with the program. Made 16 appearances, all in relief. Had a 4-1 record with a 3.04 earned run average and three saves. Was second on the team in saves and tied for third in wins. Pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and got his first save of the season in a 6-4 win at Cal State East Bay on Feb. 23. Got the final two outs to lock down an 8-5 win at Stanislaus State on March 25. Got his final save with a scoreless inning to preserve a 3-2 win at San Francisco State on April 8. Got his four wins in consecutive outings from April 21-March 5. Pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings in a 5-4 win over Cal State San Marcos on April 21. Got two wins against UC San Diego, getting the final out in the eighth inning of a 6-5 win at La Jolla on April 27 and allowing one run over three innings to earn the win in a 7-5 victory on April 28. Got his final victory by allowing only one run over three innings of an 8-7 decision over Cal State San Bernardino on May 5. For his career, appeared in 31 games, 30 of them in relief, and pitched a total of 46 1/3 innings. Had a 6-2 record and a 3.89 earned run average. Had 19 walks and 29 strikeouts.

2017: Was a key part of Cal State LA’s bullpen in his first year with the program. Was third on the team with 15 appearances, 14 of them in relief. Had a 2-1 record with a 4.76 earned run average over 22 2/3 innings. Picked up his first win with 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief against Northwest Nazarene on Feb. 9. Picked up his other victory after retiring a pair of batters in a 2-1 win in the second game of a doubleheader at UC San Diego on April 29. Allowed one or fewer runs in 12 of 15 appearances.

At East Los Angeles College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors twice after making 25 pitching appearances and 19 starts. Had a 4-3 record with a 1.87 earned run average as a freshman. Made 11 starts and had a 2.20 earned run average in 56 1/3 innings as a sophomore.

At Pepperdine: Was on the roster as a freshman.

At John Marshall High School: Was a four-time All-City performer and a two-time Northern League Player of the Year. Had a 23-13 record as a pitcher with a 2.52 earned run average. Had 165 strikeouts.

Personal: Son of Ignacio and Estela Alamillo. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys the gym, dancing, riding horses and singing Karaoke. Lists winning the regionals as a freshman at Pepperdine and facing TCU in the Super Regionals as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes his favorite food is enchiladas and his favorite music is Mexican.
