Cal State LA Athletics

2018: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 27 games and started 11 times. Hit .154 with eight hits in 52 at bats. Had three doubles and two runs batted in. Scored 11 runs. Went 2-for-3 with two home runs and a season-high three RBI in an 18-10 win at Cal State San Bernardino on May 4. Went 2-for-4 with one run scored in a 6-4 win at Cal State East Bay on Feb. 23. Scored two runs and had a hit in an 8-7 win over Stanislaus State on Feb. 10. 

At Cal State Northridge: Played a total of 152 games over three seasons for the Matadors. Hit .225 overall and .258 in conference play as a junior in 2017. Appeared in 50 games with 20 starts and scored 13 runs. Hit .265 in 53 games with 48 starts as a sophomore with 21 runs scored and 16 RBI. Also stole eight bases. Hit .239 in 49 games with 29 starts as a freshman. Scored 19 runs and led the team with 11 stolen bases.
 
At San Dimas High School:Was a starter and team captain as a junior and senior. Earned All-CIF Division IV second-team and All-Valle Vista League first team honors as a junior and senior. Also named to the All-San Gabriel Valley team those two seasons.
 
Personal: Son of Jonathan and Maria Orona. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys watching sports.
