2018: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Started all 52 games and was one of the team's best players. Hit .297 with one home run, 18 runs batted in and 42 runs. Led the team in runs scored and was second in walks with 29. Had a career-high four-hit game by going 4-for-4 with two runs scored in an 8-5 win at Sonoma State on April 14. Had a tremendous series and went 13-for-19 with nine runs scored in four games. Had one four-hit game and three three-hit efforts in the series. Also had back-to-back three-hit games against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 16-17 and Chico State on March 29-30. Went 2-for-3 and hit a solo home run at Stanislaus State on March 23. Scored a season-high three runs in three different games. Had 16 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit games and a four-hit game. For his career, appeared in 76 games and started 73 times. Hit .279 with 80 hits in 287 at bats. Had two home runs, 22 RBI and 53 runs scored.

2017: Made significant contributions for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Appeared in 24 games and made 21 starts. Hit .231 with 11 runs scored and four RBI. Hit a solo home run at Cal State San Bernardino on Feb. 25. Had a three-hit game at Cal State San Marcos on May 6 with two runs scored and two RBI. Also had two hits and scored three runs against Cal State San Marcos on May 5. Had one hit in four at bats in California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game against Cal State Monterey Bay on May 11.

2016: Did not compete in his first year with the program and was a redshirt.

At Riverside City College: Earned second-team All-Orange Empire Conference honors. Hit .273 with 39 hits in 143 at bats. Had one home run, 19 RBI and 12 runs scored.

At Fontana High School: Earned first-team All-Citrus Belt League honors as a sophomore and junior and first-team All-Sunkist League honors as a senior.

Personal: Son of Mario and Martha Ayala. Majoring in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. Lists playing baseball in West Virginia in the summer of 2016 for two months as his most exciting experience in sports.
