Summary

Biography

2013: Contributed for the Golden Eagles once again in his final season with the program. Appeared in 14 games with two starts. Hit .091 with one hit in 11 at bats. Scored five runs. Went 1-for-2 with a walk and a season-high two runs scored in an 8-2 win over Fresno Pacific on March 23. Started both ends of a doubleheader against the Sunbirds. Was a top pinch-runner for the Golden Eagles and came on to score three runs in that capacity. Made plate appearances in wins over Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State in California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament wins on May 11. For his career, appeared in 17 games with two starts. Hit .071 with one hit in 14 at bats. Scored five runs.

2012: Appeared in three games for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Had three plate appearances and recorded a put-out in the field.

2011: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program.
 
At Cal State L.A.: Appeared in 63 games and started six times for Cal State L.A.’s men’s basketball team from 2009-12. Was fourth on the team in 3-pointers made in the 2010-11 season. Made four starts and averaged 15 minutes per game. Made two starts and appeared in all 27 games as a freshman in the 2009-10 season. Played his final season for the Golden Eagles in 2011-12 and appeared in nine games and hit a pair of 3-pointers. For his career, played a total of 779 minutes. Averaged 2.5 points, 0.9 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.
 
At San Marcos High School: Competed in baseball and basketball. Was a team captain and led the team in batting average and stolen bases. Was a three-year starter on the varsity baseball team. Earned first-team All-League honors in basketball after averaging 10.3 points and 4.7 assists per game. Helped team reach the second round of the CIF playoffs. Was the team Most Valuable Player. Was a member of the National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Son of Craig and Meredith Hopkins. Majoring in business management. Enjoys going to the beach and riding dirt bikes. Lists hitting his first high-school home run as his most exciting experience in sports.
