Cal State LA Athletics

2019: Was a big part of the team’s success in his one year with the program. Contributed greatly to the team’s outstanding defense. Appeared in 23 games with six starts. Played a total of 1,069 minutes and was a big factor in Cal State LA’s five NCAA playoff games. Team went 5-0-1 in his six starts and allowed only two goals. Made his first career start for the Golden Eagles in a 2-0 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 25.

At Cal State Dominguez Hills: Earned all-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors in all three years with the program. Received second-team honors as a junior in 2018 after starting all 18 games and logging a team-high 1,603 minutes played. Earned first-team All-CCAA honors in 2016 as a sophomore after starting all 18 matches and playing 1,263 minutes. Earned second-team honors in 2015 as a freshman after appearing in all 22 games and starting 17. Played 1,276 minutes. Had one goal and six assists in his career at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

At Monrovia High School: Was part of a CIF championship team. Lettered all four years in high school and earned first-team All-Rio Hondo League honors in his final two seasons. Was captain of the team as a senior. Earned All-CIF and All-Area recognition.

Personal: Son of James and Vickie Alewine. Majoring in finance. Enjoys watching television and doing things with his family. Lists winning national championships in his final two years of club soccer as his most exciting experience in sports.
