Cal State LA Athletics

2009: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 43 games with 41 starts. Had 45 hits in 156 at bats. Hit .288 with six home runs, 15 doubles, two triples, 32 runs scored and 37 runs batted in. Also made three appearances on the mound for the Golden Eagles and pitched a total of two innings. Went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI in a 16-6 win against UC San Diego on Feb. 28. Hit a two-run home run to spark an eight-run second-inning. Had a big series against San Francisco State, going 5-for-16 with six runs scored and seven RBI with two doubles and two home runs. Went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI against Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 27. Had a home run and three RBI in a 10-7 win against Concordia-Irvine on March 31 and had a three-run home run against Cal State Monterey Bay April 4. Was injured after getting hit by a pitch and didn't start a game for the Golden Eagles over the final month of the season. Had 12 multi-hit games. Pitched a scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout in a 10-3 win over California Baptist on Feb. 24.

At Oklahoma State: Appeared in 22 games with six starts and hit .343 for the Cowboys in 2008. Had 12 hits in 35 at bats with one home run and 12 RBI. Had an on-base percentage of .415 and a slugging percentage of .543.

At Seward County CC: Hit .364 with a team-high 13 home runs, 61 RBI and a slugging percentage of .670 as a sophomore. Was also 1-0 with one save on the mound. Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was an honorable mention Junior College All-American. Was a starting third baseman as a freshman and earned All-Conference honors. Hit .311 with a team-high nine home runs and 29 walks. Also drove in 43 runs and had a .578 slugging percentage.

At Cordell High School: Competed in golf, baseball, football and wrestling. Earned All-State honors in wrestling and baseball. Received honorable mention All-State honors in golf and football.

Personal: Son of Jeff and Terri Davis. Majoring in political science. Enjoys hunting, sports and homework. Lists hitting a home run left-handed and right-handed in the same game twice as his most exciting experiences in sports.
