Summary

Biography

2008: Was a key part of the Golden Eagles’ starting staff last season despite battling through some injuries. Made 13 appearances and started nine times. Recorded a 1-6 record with a 7.43 earned run average. Threw a total of 49 2/3 innings and struck out 32. Picked up his win with a strong outing against Chico State on Feb. 23. Allowed only three hits and four runs over seven innings in a 7-6 Cal State L.A. win. Walked two and struck out three in that start. Had a season-high seven strikeouts and walked only one while allowing only three earned runs over 6 1/3 inningsagainst UC San Diego on March 7. Allowed four runs or less in each of his first six starts, yet had only one win to show for it. Finished the season strongly out of the bullpen, allowing only one run in his final three outings covering three innings.
 
At Laguna Beach HS: Competed in baseball, basketball and football in high school. Earned first-team All-League honors in 2007 and was the baseball team’s Most Valuable Player. Was also the team captain in basketball.
 
Personal: Son of John and Debbie Pickett. Majoring in G.E. Enjoys golf and all sports. Lists the race for the playoffs last season as his most exciting experience in sports.
