Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Made contributions once again for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 32 games and started 29 times. Hit .212 with 21 hits in 99 at bats. Had four doubles, four runs scored and nine runs batted in. Went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI against Cal Poly Pomona on March 7. Also had a two-run single at Cal State Dominguez Hills in his final game for the Golden Eagles on May 3. Had five multi-hit games. For his career, appeared in 48 games and started 32 times. Hit .227 with 27 hits in 119 at bats. Had four doubles, six runs scored and 16 RBI.

2013: Made important contributions in his first season with the Cal State L.A. program. Appeared in 15 games with three starts. Hit .300 after going 6-for-20 with two runs scored and seven RBI. Was 4-for-11 in his three starts. Went 1-for-3 with three RBI at California Baptist on Feb. 1. Went 1-for-4 with one RBI in the opener of a doubleheader against Fresno Pacific on March 23 and 2-for-4 with one run and two RBI in the nightcap. Appeared in CCAA Tournament games against Sonoma State on May 10 and Cal State Monterey Bay on May 11.

At West L.A. College: Earned second-team All-Western State-South Conference honors as a freshman after hitting .374 with three home runs and 23 RBI in 99 at bats. Hit .275 as a freshman in 2012 with 28 hits and 10 RBI in 102 at bats.

At Lakewood High School: Was on the school’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Son of Steve and Priscilla Luna. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys spending time with family and friends. Lists winning the CCAA Championship Tournament in Stockton as his most exciting experience in sports.
