Biography

2014: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 48 games and started 47 times. Hit .303 with 57 hits in 188 at bats. Had seven doubles, one triple, 32 runs scored and 13 runs batted in. Led the team in runs scored. An outstanding student, earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors. Went 3-for-5 with three runs scored against Cal Poly Pomona on March 6. Went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 10-4 win over Cal State San Bernardino in the opener of a doubleheader on March 29. Went 2-for-4 with one run scored in the nightcap. Had a two-run single in a 9-8 win over UC San Diego on Feb. 9. Had 16 multi-hit games, including five three-hit games. For his career, appeared in 103 games and started 102 times. Hit .304 with 119 hits in 391 at bats. Had 15 doubles, three triples, 67 runs scored and 38 RBI. 

2013: Had an outstanding season in his first year with the Cal State L.A. program. Started in 55 of the team’s 57 games. Hit .305 with 62 hits in 203 at bats. Had an on-base percentage of .340. Had nine stolen bases in 11 attempts, which was second on the team. Scored 35 runs and drove in 25. Had 17 multi-hit games. Went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and three RBI in the opener of a doubleheader against Dixie State on Feb. 10. The four hits and four runs were both season-highs. Also had three hits and three runs scored against San Francisco State on Feb. 17 and Cal State East Bay on April 14. Hit safely in six of Cal State L.A.’s seven postseason games. Was 8-for-18 with three runs scored and three RBI in the CCAA Championship Tournament. Had three-hit games against Cal State Monterey Bay and Sonoma State. Was 3-for-7 in the NCAA playoffs in games against Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay with one run and one RBI. Hit safely in the last six games of the season.

At L.A. Valley College: Earned first-team All-Western State-South Conference honors and led the state in stolen bases with 37. Was named the Team MVP and the Athlete of the Month in April of 2012. Was a team captain. Team won a conference championship.

At Notre Dame High School: Team won a CIF championship in 2008 and a league title in 2009. Earned All-League honorable mention as a junior and earned All-League honors as a senior. Hit .404 with 12 stolen bases as a senior and made the All-Tournament team at the Anderson Bat National Classic.

Personal: Son of Michael and Pamela Ryan. Majoring in television, film and media studies. Enjoys reading, watching movies and playing video games. Lists winning the CIF Championship at Dodger Stadium and winning the CCAA Championship Tournament last season with Cal State L.A. Notes he has a brother, Kyle, and two dogs. Favorite sports teams are Dodgers, Lakers and Kings and his favorite movie is “Good Will Hunting.”
