Cal State LA Athletics

2018: Had a second strong season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Made 13 appearances, all in relief. Went 1-0 with a 6.88 earned run average. Had six walks and 12 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched. Pitched a scoreless inning and got his first career win in a 6-5 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on March 8. Pitched a career-long three innings and struck out three at UC San Diego on April 28. Struck out a career-high four over 2 1/3 innings of an 18-10 win at Cal State San Bernardino on May 4. Didn't allow a run in six appearances and allowed one or no runs nine times. For his career, made 26 appearances, all in relief, and pitched a total of 24 1/3 innings. Had a 1-0 record with a 7.77 earned run average. Had 13 walks and 18 strikeouts.

2017: Was a relief specialist for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Had a 0-0 record with a 9.82 earned run average, although that ERA was adversely affected by six earned runs in a total of 1/3 inning over his final two appearances. Allowed only two earned runs over his first seven innings for an ERA of 2.57. Didn’t allow a run in 10 of his 13 relief appearances.

At L.A. Valley College: Earned second-team All-Conference honors as a sophomore. Went 2-2 with a 2.22 earned run average. Pitched a total of 48 2/3 innings.

At Frazier Mountain High School: Was the conference Most Valuable Player as a senior. Earned first-team All-Conference honors as a junior.

Personal: Son of Bob and Mindy Stowell. Majoring in marketing. Enjoys golf, music and nature.
