Cal State LA Athletics

2014: Contributed out of the bullpen for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in seven games, all in relief. Had a 0-0 record with a 4.00 earned run average. Had four walks and five strikeouts in nine innings. Tossed two scoreless innings with one walk and a season-high three strikeouts against UC San Diego on April 5. Also scattered five hits and didn't allow a run over two innings with two strikeouts at Cal State Dominguez Hills on May 3. For his career, appeared in 17 games and started 10 times. Had a 2-3 record with a 3.78 earned run average. Pitched a total of 69 innings. Walked 19 and struck out 28.

2013: Was a key contributor for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Missed nearly six weeks with injury, but returned to pick up two late-season victories. Had a 2-3 record with a 3.75 earned run average. Made 10 appearances, all starts, and pitched a total of 60 innings. Picked up his first win of the season by going seven strong innings in a 5-3 win at Chico State on May 5. Allowed seven hits and three runs. Also went the distance in a 15-3 win over Sonoma State at the CCAA Championship Tournament. Allowed only two earned runs and struck out four and helped the Golden Eagles to the tournament title.

At Long Beach City College: Compiled a 2-3 record with a 2.91 earned run average in 2012. Tossed one complete game and threw a total of 43 1/3 innings. Was 5-3 with a 2.38 earned run average in 2011 with 38 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings. Earned All-South Coast Conference honors as a freshman.

At Lakewood High School: Earned All-Moore League honors in 2007.

Personal: Son of Jose and Araceli Jimenez. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys watching movies, playing video games and working out. Lists pitching against Wilson High School during his junior year as his most exciting experience in sports.
