Biography

2025: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Appeared in 40 games with 39 starts. Led the team with a .361 batting average with 56 hits in 155 at bats. Had two home runs, 26 runs batted in and 24 runs scored. Also led the team with a .450 on-base percentage. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Drove in the game-winning run with a single up the middle in the 13th inning of n 8-7 win over Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 28. Went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and one RBI in the game. Went 2-for-5 with a season-high four RBI, including a home run, in a 9-7 win in 10 innings over San Francisco State on March 16. Also had four RBI in a 14-9 win over Chico State in 11 innings on April 17. Had a go-ahead three-run double in the 10th inning and a run-scoring single to cap a five-run 11th inning for the Golden Eagles. Scored a season-high three runs and hit a solo home run to lead off the game in a 12-8 win over San Francisco State on March 14. Hit safely in 32 games with 18 multi-hit games and six three-hit games. For his career, appeared in 84 games with 79 starts. Hit .356 with 105 hits in 295 at bats. Had 10 home runs, 61 RBI and 58 runs scored. Hit safely in 61 games with 35 multi-hit games and nine three-hit games.

2024: Had an outstanding season with the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 44 games with 40 starts. Hit .350 with 49 hits in 140 at bats. Had eight home runs, 35 runs batted in and 34 runs scored. Tied for second on the team in batting average and was second in home runs and tied for third in runs batted in. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. Made his Cal State LA debut and went 0-for-4 with a walk at Hawaii Pacifice on Feb. 1. Went 2-for-4 with a grand slam home run and a season-high four RBI at Hawaii Pacific on Feb. 3. Went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and four RBI in a 25-2 win over La Sierra on Feb. 17. Went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a two-run home run and three RBI in a 10-5 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 8. Went 2-for-5 with three runs scored, a home run and three RBI in a 20-8 win over Stanislaus State on May 3. Hit safely in 29 games with 17 multi-hit games and three three-hit games. Tossed out 16 of 31 baserunners trying to steal.

At Long Beach City College: Earned second-team all-conference honors after hitting .299 with five home runs, 31 runs batted in and 20 runs scored in 2023. Hit .340 with 36 hits in 106 at bats in 2022. Played in 71 games and had 79 hits in 250 at bats in his two seasons with the program.

At Culver City High School: Was a four-year varsity player and earned All-Academic honors all four seasons.

Personal: Son of Marlon and Angela Clayton. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys fishing, earthing and playing the game. Lists catching a throw from the centerfielder to cut down the potential winning run at the plate in a game against Compton College and his team walking it off in the bottom of the 10th inning as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes that Drake has to be in everybody’s top five artists list.
