Biography

2025: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Started all 51 games and hit .316 with 71 hits in 225 at bats. Shared the team lead with nine home runs and led the team with 42 runs batted in and 48 runs scored. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for the second consecutive season. Earned CCAA and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association West Region Player of the Week honors for the week of April 28-May 4 after hitting .381 with three home runs, and nine RBI to lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 series win at Cal State Dominguez Hills and into the CCAA Tournament. Hit two home runs, including a go-ahead solo shot in the top of the ninth inning, of a 10-9 win in the first game of a doubleheader on May 2. Had three four-hit games. Went 4-for-5 with a career-high five runs scored in a 17-5 win over Sonoma State on March 28. Also went 4-for-6 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBI in an 11-1 win at Cal State East Bay on April 5. Went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI against Cal State San Bernardino on April 27. Hit a game-winning two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth of an 8-6 win over Sonoma State on March 30. Hit safely in 36 games with 24 multi-hit games, five three-hit games and three four-hit games. Earned a 2024-25 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2024-25 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2025 CCAA Spring Honor Roll recognition. For his career, appeared in 99 games with 95 starts. Hit .329 with 127 hits in 386 at bats. Had 19 home runs, 94 RBI and 91 runs scored. Hit safely in 71 games with 37 multi-hit games, eight three-hit games and six four-hit games.

2024: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Earned second-team All-West Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings and second-team All-CCAA honors. Led the team with 10 home runs and 52 runs batted in. Hit .348 with 56 hits in 161 at bats. Was third on the team with 43 runs scored. Went 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs scored and seven RBI, just one shy of the program single-game record in a 12-5 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 9. Went 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI in a 15-11 win at Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 23. Went 4-for-5 with a home run and four runs scored in a 25-2 win over La Sierra on Feb. 17. Had a go-ahead three-run home run as part of a four-RBI game in a 5-4 win over Cal Poly Pomona on April 20. Also had four RBI, including a three-run home run, in the season finale against Stanislaus State on May 4. Hit safely in 35 games and had 13 multi-hit games, including three three-hit games and three four-hit games. Earned 2023-24 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2024 CCAA Spring Honor Roll recognition. Also earned a 2023-24 Division 2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

At Fullerton College: Hit .335 with three home runs and 26 RBI in 2022. Scored 38 runs and stole seven bases in 40 games. Hit .250 as a sophomore in 2023 with four home runs, 34 RBI and 38 runs scored in 48 games. Was a 2023 pre-season All-American.

At San Dimas High School: Was the 2019 San Gabriel Valley Player of the Year and 2019 National Classic Offensive Most Valuable Player. Earned All-League honors twice.

Personal: Son of Chemosh and Shana Marquez. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys hanging out with family and friends and going to the gym. Lists playing in Hawaii in his first season at Cal State LA as his most exciting experience in sports.
