Cal State LA Athletics

At San Francisco State: Made seven appearances, all in relief, as a freshman for the Gators in 2023. Pitched a total of 9 2/3 innings and had five strikeouts. Pitched a season-high 2 2/3 innings and had a season-high three strikeouts against Cal Poly Pomona on April 29. Was part of a combined shutout against Chico State on April 11 with a scoreless inning. Pitched one inning and allowed only an unearned run in a win over Cal State LA on April 1. Had a 0-0 record with a 6.52 earned run average. Was named the program’s Freshman of the Fall. Earned 2022-23 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At St. John Bosco High School: Was a Freshman of the Year and a team Most Valuable Player during his career. Was also a scholar-athlete three times and was an Honor Roll student.

Personal: Son of Jesse and Lori Paderez. Majoring in business-finance. Enjoys hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Lists sweeping rival Mater Dei during his senior year in high school as his most exciting experience in sports and says all the travel ball tournaments he won while growing up make it all worth it. Notes he comes from a big family with two sisters and one brother.
