Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Made positive contributions in his first year with the program. Appeared in 15 games with 10 starts. Hit .263 with 10 hits in 38 at bats. Drove in six runs and scored three runs. Made his Cal State LA debut as a pinch runner on Feb. 2 against Hawaii-Hilo and scored the game-winning run in a 4-3 victory. Made his first start and went 2-for-5 against Hawaii Pacific on Feb. 3. Went 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBI at Sonoma State on April 12. Singled in the tying run and scored what turned out to be the game winner in a come-from-behind 8-6 victory. Hit safely in eight games and had two multi-hit games.

At Irvine Valley Junior College: Appeared in 39 games and hit .254 with 33 hits in 130 at bats in 2023. Had four home runs and 21 RBI while scoring 26 runs.

At CSUN: Appeared in 27 games with nine starts as a true freshman. Used primarily as a late-game defensive replacement and pinch-runner. Recorded his first career hit at No. 22 UCLA. pinch-hitter and late-game defensive replacement. Collected four hits, including a home run against Pacific, scored 10 runs, had six RBI and walked six times. Handled 15 chances in the outfield without an error.

At Mater Dei High School: Earned all-league honors as a senior. Hit .335 with three home runs and 19 RBI.

Personal: Son of Josh and Julie Porter. Majoring in business marketing. Enjoys golf and collecting baseball cards. Lists starting in left field against No. 2 Stanford, hitting his first collegiate home run against Pacific and playing against UCLA his freshman year and recording his first hit as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he has two younger brothers, Cole and Ethan and that his father played basketball at Cal Poly. Says his favorites include Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Will Ferrell, Margot Robbie, “The Office,” “Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith,” Morgan Wallen and Netflix. Says his favorite food is tacos.
