2017: Made big contributions for the Golden Eagles once again as a reliever in his second and final year with the program. Made 12 appearances, all in relief. Had a 1-0 record with a 7.00 earned run average. Pitched a total of nine innings and had eight walks and five strikeouts. Retired the only two batters he faced and got the win in a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over UC San Diego on April 28. Didn't allow a run in eight of his 12 appearances. For his career, made 19 appearances, all in relief. Had a 2-0 record with an 8.36 earned run average. Walked 10 and struck out nine in 14 innings pitched.

2016: Had a solid season as a reliever in his first year with the program. Had a 1-0 record with a 10.80 earned run average in seven appearances. Did not allow a hit or a run in five of his seven relief outings. Earned the win in an 8-7 victory over Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 28. Retired all three batters he faced. Walked two and struck out four in five innings of work.

At Fresno City College: Appeared in nine games as a reliever as a sophomore and had a 1.42 earned run average. Struck out seven in 6 1/3 innings.

At Buchanan High School: Earned the school’s Bear Award and was on the school’s Honor Roll. Competed in baseball and football.

Personal: Son of Bruce and Laura Berger. Majoring in business marketing. Enjoys golf, fishing and surfing. Lists the CIF/National championships in high school and reaching the Final Four in baseball at Fresno City College as his most exciting experiences in sports.
