Cal State LA Athletics

2017: Had a second strong season with the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 35 games and started 23 times. Hit .309 with 29 hits in 94 at bats. Had four home runs, eight doubles, 20 runs batted in and 24 runs scored. Went 3-for-4 with a home run and a career-high four runs scored in a 13-3 win over Concordia-Portland on Feb. 17. Also went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in a 16-7 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 3. Also went 3-for-4 with two RBI in a 10-6 win over San Francisco State on April 8. Had a pinch-hit two-run single against Chico State in the eighth inning of a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game against Chico State on May 10. Went 1-for-1 with two runs scored in a CCAA Tournament game against UC San Diego on May 12. Had six multi-hit games. For his career, appeared in 70 games and started 48 times. Hit .261 with 48 hits in 184 at bats. Had five home runs, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and eight doubles.

2016: Saw considerable playing time for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 35 games and started 25 times. Hit .211 with one home run and seven RBI. Had 19 hits in 90 at bats. Had a season-high three hits, including a solo home run against Point Loma on Feb. 13. Also went 2-for-4 against Cal State San Marcos on Feb. 26 and was 2-for-3 with a run scored and run driven in against Cal Poly Pomona on April 22. Had three multi-hit games.

At Riverside Community College: Earned first-team All-Orange Empire Conference honors. Hit .307 as a sophomore with 39 hits in 127 at bats. Had 18 runs scored and 16 RBI. Also hit .290 as a freshman with 31 hits in 107 at bats.

At Alta Loma High School: Was on a Baseline League championship team. Earned first-team All-League honors three times and earned All-Inland-Empire honors three times. Was a four-year letter winner in baseball.

Personal: Son of Bruce and Lois Dean. Majoring in business management. Enjoys going to the lake. Lists hitting a three-run home run at Angel Stadium as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he is a hard-core Notre Dame football fan.
