Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 12 games with 10 starts. Had a 5-3 record with a 4.25 earned run average. Had 25 walks and 52 strikeouts in in 67 2/3 innings pitched. Was third on the team in innings pitched and third in strikeouts. Tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts. Allowed five hits and didn't walk a batter while striking out seven in a 7-0 win at San Francisco State on Feb. 28. Also tossed a four-hit shutout at Cal State East Bay on March 29 in a 3-0 win. Allowed only seven hits and one run over 8 2/3 innings in a 5-1 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay on March 23. Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association West Region Pitcher of the Week honors after the starts against Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay. For the week, Conant allowed just 11 hits and one run over 17 2/3 innings and had an earned run average of 0.51. He walked only three and struck out nine. Also gave up only one earned run over 6 2/3 innings to get the win in a 7-2 victory over Chico State on April 4. Allowed one or no runs in four of his 10 starts.

At Riverside Community College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors after going 3-1 with a 1.46 earned run average in 2014. Made nine appearances and started seven games. Pitched a total of 55 1/3 innings and walked 15 while striking out 46.

At Cal State Fullerton: Made seven appearances and one start as a freshman in 2013. Had a 1-0 record with a 5.40 earned run average. Tossed 8 1/3 innings and struck out 10. Limited opposing batters to a .222 average. Threw two shutout innings and struck out three in relief and got the win in an 8-4 win at Pepperdine. Made a start against Nebraska.

At Alta Loma High School: Competed in baseball and football.

Personal: Son of Ken and Jennifer Conant. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys fishing. Lists winning the Baseline League championship during his senior year at Alta Loma as his most exciting experience in sports. Says he likes to go to the beach.
