Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Contributed to the Golden Eagles bullpen in his one year with the program. Appeared in three games, all in relief. Went 0-0 with a 9.82 earned run average. Had three walks and one strikeout in 3 2/3 innings. Made his Cal State LA career and pitched a scoreless inning, allowing only one hit, in a win at Chaminade on Feb. 4. Pitched two hitless innings and retired all six batters he faced against Chico State on March 23. Earned 2024 California Collegiate Athletic Association Spring Honor Roll recognition. Also earned a 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

At New Orleans: Made 15 appearances on the mound, all in relief, in two seasons with the program. Had 13 strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings. Had three hits in 15 at bats with three starts in 2022. Drove in one run. Earned a Privateer 3.0 Scholar-Athlete Award.

At Citrus College: Appeared in 20 games in 2020 and had 17 hits in 65 at bats for a .262 batting average. Had three home runs and nine RBI with 18 runs scored. Also made two appearances on the mound and allowed only one hit and no runs over 4 1/3 innings with four strikeouts.

At Northview High School: Earned All-Valle Vista League honors three times. Earned first-team All-CIF honors in 2019. Was his school’s Viking Male Athlete of the Year in 2019. Competed in baseball and football.

Personal: Son of Alejandro and Veronica Duran. Pursuing his Master’s degree in business administration. Enjoys watching and doing boxing, driving and working on cars and hitting the gym with his friends. Lists beating LSU when they were ranked No. 10 in the country as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he has two dogs named Rambo and Xena. Says he has the best taste in music and that he’s dealt with a Category 4 hurricane and went duck hunting the next day.
