Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Made significant contributions to the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 15 games and started 13 times. Played a total of 850 minutes. Had two points and three assists for seven points. Scored the team's first goal in a 2-1 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 23. Also had the first goal in a 2-1 win at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 28. Had two assists in a 5-1 win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 30. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 32 minutes in a 1-1 tie at Cal Poly Pomona (9-30-11). Got his first start for the Golden Eagles and played 35 minutes in a 3-0 win at San Francisco State on Oct. 2.

At Moorpark College: Earned first-team All-Western State Conference honors as a freshman and second-team honors as a sophomore. Had eight goals and six assists as a sophomore. Was voted team Most Valuable Player. Led the team in goals and assists.

At El Camino Real High School: Earned first-team All-CIF City Section honors as a senior and was the team captain. Team was a City Section semi-finalist in his junior season.

Personal: Son of Marwan and Lynn Assad. Majoring in business. Enjoys wakeboarding, longboarding  and soccer. Lists getting voted MVP by his teammates at Moorpark College in 2008 as his most exciting experience in sports.
