Summary

Biography

2010: Missed the first seven games of the season, but returned in time to play the final 10 contests for the Golden Eagles. Made nine starts. Finished with one goal and one assist. Scored the second goal in a 4-0 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 8 and added an assist on the final goal.
 
2009: Had a successful freshman season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 20 of the team’s 23 games and made a meaningful impact on the team. Helped a defense that was one of the nation’s best. Team allowed only 17 goals in the 20 games he played in and allowed one or fewer goals in 17 contests, including eight shutouts. Had a pair of shots on goal in NCAA playoff game against Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 13.
 
At Hilltop High School: Was a four-year starter on varsity and a senior captain. Was named the Rookie of the Year as a freshman and picked up the Iron-man Award as a sophomore. Earned first-team All-League honors three times. Competed in soccer, swimming and diving and cross country.
 
Personal: Son of Victor and Christine Vargas. Majoring in English. Enjoys whale watching, yoga, archery, the beach, reading, fishing, camping and skating. Lists playing Surf Academy soccer and scoring insane goals as his most exciting experiences in sports.
