Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 16 games with 10 starts. Hit .222 with eight hits in 36 at bats. Hit two home runs with three runs batted in and three runs scored. Made his Cal State LA debut and got the start in a 10-9 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on March 9. Hit a sixth-inning solo home run in a 5-0 win over Cal State East Bay on April 6. Hit a two-run home run against Stanislaus State on May 2. Went 2-for-4 with a run scored against Stanislaus State on May 4. Hit safely in six games and had two multi-hit games.

At Allan Hancock College: Hit .349 with three home runs, 29 runs batted in and 34 runs scored as a sophomore in 2023. Had 52 hits in 149 at bats. Caught eight baserunners trying to steal. Played in all 42 games. Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was named Catcher of the Year. Appeared in 23 games as a freshman in 2002 and hit .216 in 37 at bats. Had one home run, 11 RBI and six runs scored.

At Santa Maria High School: Earned first-team All-League honors as a sophomore and senior. Was also a two-time team Most Valuable Player and a league Catcher of the Year twice. Competed in baseball and water polo.

Personal: Son of Fransisco Nunez and Gabriela Ordonez. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys spending time with family. Lists hitting his first college home run against Ventura College as his most exciting experience in sports.
