Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Had a promising season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 12 games with eight starts. Hit .200 with six hits in 30 at bats. Scored seven runs and drove in one. Also tossed a scoreless inning as a pitcher. Made his Cal State LA debut and went 1-for-4 with a run scored at Chaminade on Feb. 2. Went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 17-14 win at San Francisco State on April 27. Hit safely in five games. Earned 2023-24 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors.

At Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School: Earned first-team All-League honors and was the team’s Most Valuable Player. Was also the Offensive Player of the Year. Hit .453 with an on-base percentage of .653 and a slugging percentage of .773. Was on the school’s High Honor Roll four times.

Personal: Son of Mark and Rezsin Gonzalez. Majoring in computer science. Enjoys Bible study, grounding, reading and hiking. Lists playing baseball in Alaska, Las Vegas and Hawaii as his most exciting experiences in sports. Says he also enjoys baseball and college football and that he loves being a part of his local church and hosting Bible studies.
