Biography

At Santa Rosa Junior College: Compiled a 4-1 record with a 3.57 earned run average in 2010. Made 17 appearances on the mound with nine starts. Walked 10 and struck out 36 in 58 innings pitched. Had an 0-1 record with a 12.60 earned run average in 2009. Appeared in five games and pitched a total of five innings.
 
At St. Louis High School: Was a scholar-athlete. Competed in baseball, football and basketball. Earned first-team All-League honors as a senior and honorable mention as a junior.
 
Personal: Son of Gordon and Melissa Usui. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys surfing, diving, fishing and bodyboarding. Lists pitching in the Final Four game and throwing a complete game to enable his team to reach the championship game as his most exciting experience in sports.
