2011: Returned from injury and contributed once again for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 25 games and started 11 times. Hit .264 with 14 hits in 53 at bats. Had one home run, one double, nine runs scored and seven runs batted in. Hit a solo home run in an 8-2 win over Grand Canyon on Feb. 12. Went 3-for-4 with a career-high three runs scored in a 10-6 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 23. Delivered the go-ahead single in a five-run ninth-inning rally for the Golden Eagles. Had a pinch-hit, two-run single plus a stolen base against Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 22. For his career, appeared in 50 games and started 28 times. Hit .258 with 31 hits in 120 at bats. Had three home runs, five doubles, 21 runs scored and 17 RBI.

2010: Missed the entire season with an injury and was a redshirt.

2009: Made significant contributions as a freshman for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 25 games and started 17 times. Hit .254 with 17 hits in 67 at bats. Belted a big three-run home run in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Tournament victory against Cal State Dominguez Hills on May 8. Also had a double and scored two runs in the 13-7 victory. Hit his first home run – a solo shot – at UC San Diego on Feb. 26. Hit safely in four of the last five games of the season.

At Royal High School: Earned second-team All-State and second-team All-CIF honors. Also earned All-Ventura County and All-Marmonte League honors.

Personal: Son of Michael and Terrie Vinyard. Majoring in television and film studies. Enjoys surfing. Lists playing at Safeco Field as his most exciting experience in sports.
