Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Started 44 games and hit .282 with 48 hits in 170 at bats. Had seven home runs, eight doubles, one triple, 23 runs scored and 30 runs batted in. Hit a solo home run in an 8-5 win over Saint Martin's on Feb. 3 in his Cal State L.A. debut. Went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in an 8-2 win over Grand Canyon on Feb. 12. Also had a home run and three RBI in a 10-0 win over Cal State East Bay on March 4. Had two hits and three RBI in the series finale against Cal State East Bay on March 6. Had a season-high three hits, including a double and triple, in a 7-3 win over San Francisco State on Feb. 19. Had three hits, including a double and home run, at UC San Diego on April 2. Had 14 multi-hit games.

At Stanford: Appeared in 22 games and made five starts in 2009. Hit ..265 with one home run and five RBI. Scored nine runs. Saw action in 13 games as a freshman in 2007 and had two hits in six at bats. Collected his first career hits and RBI in a 2-for-2 performance against UCLA on March 31, 2007.

At Hoover High School: Was a four-year member of the varsity team. Earned All-Pacific League honors in 2004 and 2005. Was the league Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and a league MVP honoree in 2005. Was honored with the CIF Sportsmanship Award in 2006. Was hitting .500 with two home runs and 19 RBI midway through his senior season in 2006 before suffering a wrist injury. Hit .410 with four home runs and 26 RBI as a junior in 2005.

Personal: Son of Sang yeoi Moon and Keon ok Kim. Majoring in electrical engineering. Enjoys chess. Lists his first college game as his most exciting experience in sports. Was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States when he was 10 years old.
