Summary

Biography

2022: Was one of the best players and key defender on Cal State LA’s women’s soccer team. Started all 21 games for the Golden Eagles and was fourth on the team in minutes played with 1,795. Earned third-team All-West Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches and received All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention recognition. Was named to the CCAA All-Tournament Team after helping the Golden Eagles win the conference tournament. Had three goals for six points and was third on the team in scoring. Scored the team’s first goal on a penalty kick in a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 25. Had the team’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie at Cal Poly Humboldt on Sept. 30. Also had the team’s first goal on a free kick in a 4-3 win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 23. Was named the CCAA Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

2021: Had a sensational first season of competition for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in all 19 games and started 18 times. Played a team-high 1,685 minutes and was one of the top defenders on the squad. Had one assist on the season. Made her Cal State LA debut and got her first start in a 1-1 tie at Concordia on Sept. 4. Played a season-high 110 minutes in a 0-0 tie at San Francisco State on Oct. 1 and matched that with 110 minutes in a first-round California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game at San Francisco State on Nov. 7. Picked up an assist on a goal by Irma Pinzon at Point Loma on Sept. 9.

2020: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors in her first year with the program. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At San Jacinto High School: Was her team’s leading goal scorer all four years in high school and a team captain as a junior and senior. Was her team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2018-19 and 2019-2020. Earned first-team All-League honors in 2018-19 and 2019-2020 and was an Offensive League MVP. Earned All-CIF honors in 2018-19. Earned Riverside County Player of the Week honors and was nominated for Riverside County Player of the Year. Was on a league champion track and field team. Earned Highest Honors for academic excellence all four years and was received an Honors Golden Seal diploma.

Personal: Daughter of Julian and Blanca Hernandez. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys Razr riding, hanging out with friends and reading poetry books. Lists making it to the CCAA playoffs and winning a second-round CIF game in overtime and scoring the golden goal as her most exciting experience in sports. Says she loves Mexican food and sea food. Notes she has four siblings, Magdali, Joash, Tyariz and Thailene.
