2023: Won on Cal State LA’s track and field roster, but did not compete in any meets in her one year with the program.

2022: Was Cal State LA’s No. 1 runner in cross country in her one year with the program. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 19:56.3 at Cal State Fullerton’s John Elder Invitational on Oct. 21 and had a best 6,000-meter time of 23:37.3 at UC Riverside’s Highlander Invitational on Oct. 15. Was the team’s No. 1 runner in all six races she completed. Was unable to finish the race at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships on Nov. 5 due to injury.

At Norte Vista High School: Competed in cross country, soccer and track and field. Was a Scholar-Athlete (2020-22) and won Rookie of the Year (2018), Captain’s Award (2019), Most Valuable Player (2020-21) and the Legacy Award (2021).

Personal: Daughter of Armando and Cynthia Mercado. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys outdoor activities and exploring new things. Lists getting the school record in the 4x400 relay at Norte Vista High School in 2022 as her most exciting experience in sports.
