Cal State LA Athletics

2021: Made meaningful contributions for the national champions in his final year with the Cal State LA program. Appeared in 18 games with two starts. Played a total of 347 minutes. Saw playing time for the Golden Eagles in all five of their NCAA playoff games. For his career, appeared in 70 games with 15 starts. Played a total of 2,259 minutes. Had one goal and five assists for seven points.

2020: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles and was a red-shirt.

2018: Enjoyed a third strong season with the Golden Eagles and notched his first career goal. Got the game-winner in a season-opening 2-0 victory at Northwest Nazarene on Aug. 30. Appeared in 20 games for Cal State LA with nine starts. Both are career highs. Picked up an assist in a 3-0 win at Concordia Irvine on Sept. 8. Finished the season with one goal and one assist for three points.

2017: Had a second solid season with the Golden Eagles as a sophomore. Appeared in 13 games and played a total of 363 minutes. Had a pair of assists and finished with two points. Assisted on a goal by Damian Roszczyk in a 4-0 win over Bethesda on Aug. 31. Also had an assist on a goal by Miguel Galvan Lara in a 3-0 win at Point Loma on Sept. 2.

2016: Had a strong debut for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 19 games and started four times. Had two assists, both in a 3-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 30. Made his first career start at Concordia Irvine on Sept. 8. Also started and played a season-high 67 minutes against Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 21.

At Granada Hills Charter High School: Played varsity soccer all four years in high school. Was the West Valley Player of the Year and Golden Boot award winner as a junior. Team was a CIF Finalist and a Division 2 state finalist in his senior season. Earned second-team All-League honors as a sophomore. Scored 40 goals with 23 assists in his four years at high school.

Personal: Son of Francisco and Maricela Leon. Majoring in sociology. Enjoys coaching, going to the gym and reading. Lists winning back-to-back CCAA Tournament championships as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he has a twin brother named Eric.
