Biography

2022: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 14 games and started seven. Played a total of 546 minutes. Had four goals and eight points. Missed some time due to injury, but returned to play the final eight games, starting two of them. Scored a first-half goal in a season-opening win over Saint Martin’s on Aug. 25. Had the first goal in the 28th minute of a 6-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 17. Had the final goal in a 3-0 win over Sonoma State on Oct. 14. Had the only goal, a game-tying score in the second half of a 2-1 loss to Northwest Nazarene in the NCAA playoffs on Nov. 12. For his career, appeared in 37 games with nine starts. Played a total of 1,353 minutes. Had eight goals and one assist for 17 points.

2021: Made a big impact for the national champions in his first season on the field for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 23 games with two starts and played a total of 807 minutes. Was tied for fifth on the team in scoring with four goals and one assist for nine points. Made his Cal State LA debut and got his first start against Simon Fraser on Sept. 5. Scored his first goal of the season in a 2-0 win at Concordia on Sept. 15. Scored the final goal in the 85th minute of a 3-0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 22 and came right back with the game-tying goal in the 43rd minute of a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 24. Gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead in the 62nd minute of a 3-1 win over Cal Poly Pomona in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament championship game on Nov. 14. Had an assist on a goal by Aidan Wait in a 4-0 win on Oct. 10. Played a season-high 77 minutes against Azusa Pacific on Sept. 10. Played key minutes in all five of Cal State LA’s NCAA Tournament games. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and received 2021 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2020: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors in his first year with the program. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At College of the Desert: Scored 18 goals with nine assists in two years with a program that won back-to-back conference titles. Earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-State honors.

At Cal State Fullerton: Was a redshirt in his one year with the program.

At La Quinta High School: Had 36 goals and 14 assists in high school. Was a key player on a team that won league and CIF championships in 2015 and a league title in 2017. Earned first-team All-CIF and first-team All-League honors. Was the Desert Sun’s Soccer Athlete of the Year. Competed in soccer and track and field.

Personal: Son of Octavio Rosales and Marisela Zepeda. Majoring in liberal studies. Enjoys playing golf, watching soccer and spending time with family and friends. Lists winning the 2021 NCAA championship at Cal State LA and winning a conference title for the program’s first championship since 1999 at College of the Desert as his most exciting experiences in sports. Notes he has two younger siblings, Marcos and Maribella Rosales.
