Biography

2024: Returned from injury and made significant contributions for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 16 games with 10 starts. Played a total of 865 minutes. Had two goals and one assist for five points. Made his first appearance of the season and played 14 minutes in a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 28. Made his first start since 2022 and played 69 minutes in a 2-1 win over Cal Poly Humboldt on Oct. 13. Recorded his first goal of the season in the 36th minute of a 3-3 tie against Cal State East Bay on Oct. 25. Followed that up by scoring the game-winning goal in the 50th minute of a 2-1 win over Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 27. Headed in a free kick from Matteo Costa for the game-winner. Got an assist on a goal by Tommaso Belli in the 53rd minute of a 3-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game in University Stadium on Nov. 10. Played a season-high 90 minutes in a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay on Nov. 3. For his career, appeared in 37 games with 29 starts. Played a total of 2,586 minutes. Had four goals and three assists for 11 points.

2023: Was hampered by injuries and limited to only one game for the Golden Eagles. Was initially injured before the season and re-injured in his lone appearance in a 3-0 win at Biola on Sept. 9. Played 11 minutes before sustaining a season-ending injury.

2022: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Earned second-team All-West Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches. Was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Year and earned second-team All-CCAA honors. Was named to the CCAA All-Tournament team. Earned CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of Aug. 25-28. Appeared in all 20 games with 19 starts. Led the team with 1,710 minutes played. Had two goals and two assists for six points. Made his Cal State LA debut and got his first start in a 6-0 win over Saint Martin’s on Aug. 25. Scored the team’s first goal of the season and played 72 minutes. Scored the game-winning goal in the second half of a wild 4-3 win over Biola on Sept. 7. Entered the game at halftime with the Golden Eagles trailing, 3-2. Picked up his first assist on a game-winning goal by Daniel Garcia in a 1-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 23. Also had an assist on a goal in the fourth minute of a 4-0 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 21.

Personal: Son of Sven and Zelijka Radel. Majoring in business management. Enjoys playing soccer and meeting friends. Lists playing with the youth academy with VFB Stuttgart as his most exciting experience in sports.
