Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Returned to Cal State LA and had a solid season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in 12 games and made two starts. Played for a total of 343 minutes. Made his first appearance of the season and played a season-high 51 minutes in a 1-0 win at Western Washington on Sept. 12. Made his first start of the season and played 31 minutes in a 4-1 win over Colorado School of Mines on Sept. 22. Also started and played 27 minutes in a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 28. For his career, appeared in 30 games with three starts. Played a total of 1,162 minutes. Had one goal and two points.

At Cal State Fullerton: Appeared in a pair of games for the Titans in 2022.

2021: Had an impactful season for the national champions in his first season on the field for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 18 games with one start. Played a total of 819 minutes. Had one goal and two points. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 64 minutes against Simon Fraser on Sept. 5. Made his first career start and played 44 minutes in a non-conference game at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 25. Scored the team’s second goal in a 3-0 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 8. Had the game’s best scoring chance in national semi-final game against Nova Southeastern, drilling a shot off the crossbar in the 68^th minute in a 0-0 tie.

2020: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019: Was on the team roster, but did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles and was a redshirt.

At La Mirada High School: Earned first-team All-League honors and was the Suburban League Most Valuable Player. Earned Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team honorable mention and was named to the Whittier Daily News All-Area first team. Was on an ODP 01 National Championship team.

Personal: Son of Simon and Karen Candelario. Graduated with a degree in business management, marketing and pursuing a Master’s degree in real estate. Enjoys gym. Lists winning the national championship with Cal State LA as his most exciting experience in sports.
