Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Was a key member of the team in his third and final season with the program. Appeared in all 21 games and made eight starts. Played a total of 811 minutes. Made the opening-night starting lineup and got his first career start in a 2-0 win at Fresno Pacific on Sept. 5. Played a career-high 74 minutes in a 1-0 win at Western Washington on Sept. 12. Started the first four games of the season for the Golden Eagles. For his career, appeared in 43 games with eight starts. Played a total of 1,149 minutes. Earned 2024 California Collegiate Athletic Association Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2023: Made significant contributions again for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Appeared in 15 games and a total of 235 minutes. Made his season debut and had a shot on goal in eight minutes of playing time. Played a career-high 39 minutes in a 3-2 win over Stanislaus State on Oct. 22. Earned a 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2023-24 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and 2023 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2022: Made contributions to the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in seven games and played a total of 103 minutes. Made his Cal State LA debut and played eight minutes in a 6-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 17. Played 23 minutes against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 25. Played a season-high 25 minutes in a 4-0 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 21. Played 21 minutes in a 2-1 win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 23. Earned a 2022-23 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award and 2022-23 CCAA All-Academic honors. Also earned 2022 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At Cal State Northridge: Appeared in eight matches with four starts in his one year with the Matadors. Played a total of 356 minutes.

At El Camino Real Charter High School:  Lettered in soccer and also played for the RSC Academy.

Personal: Son of Elmer and Jenny Martinez. Is pursuing his post-baccalaureate certificate in ethnic studies. Enjoys working out, video games and watching movies. Lists making it all the way to the Elite Eight with Cal State LA and playing in high intense playoff games as his most exciting experience in sports.
