Cal State LA Athletics

2022: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Was one of only three players to start all 20 games for Cal State LA and was third on the team in minutes played with 1,399 minutes. Was third on the team in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points. Shared the team lead in assists. Earned first-team All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches and third-team All-America honors from the D2 Conference Commissioners Association. Received first-team All-Region honors from both organizations. Was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Midfielder of the Year and earned first-team All-CCAA honors. Also earned CCAA All-Tournament team honors was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Offensive Player. Made his Cal State LA debut and contributed an assist in a 6-0 season-opening win over Saint Martin’s on Aug. 25. Picked up his first goal – the game-winner – in a 2-0 victory over Concordia on Sept. 3. Had the lone goal in the 54^th minute of a 1-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 23. Scored a goal in a 4-0 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 21 and had the opening goal and assisted on the game-winner by Oliver Diaz in a 2-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the conference tournament championship game on Nov. 12. Also had assists in a 4-3 win over Biola on Sept. 7, a 3-1 victory at Azusa Pacific on Sept. 10 and a 4-0 win against San Francisco State on Oct. 16.

At California Baptist: Appeared in 17 games for the Lancers in 2021. Had one goal and three assists for five points. Scored a goal straight from a corner kick against Houston Baptist on Oct. 22. Played a total of 772 minutes.

At Loyola Marymount: Played in 34 games over two seasons with five starts. Played a total of 1,353 minutes. Had two goals and two assists for six points in 2019.

Personal: Son of Gerardo and Irma Garcia. Pursuing a Master’s degree in psychology. Enjoys video games and taking out his nephews.
