Biography

2024: Was a major part of the team for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in all 21 games with 10 starts. Played a total of 582 minutes. Had one goal and four assists for six points. Was second on the team in assists. Scored the opening goal in the 20th minute of a 3-1 win over Cal State Monterey Bay in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament first-round game in University Stadium on Nov. 10. Played a career-high 90 minutes and got the assist on a game-tying goal in the 60th minute by Erick Alamo in a 2-1 win at Stanislaus State on Oct. 6. Picked up his first assist of the season on a goal by Tommaso Belli in the 60th minute of a 1-0 win over MSU Denver on Sept. 22. Also had an assist on a goal by Erick Alamo in a 1-1 tie at Chico State on Oct. 4. Picked up his final assist on a goal by Oscar Warne in a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay on Nov. 3. For his career, appeared in 46 games with 12 starts. Played a total of 1,128 minutes. Had two goals and six assists for 10 points. Earned a 2024-25 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Award and received 2024 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2023: Had an increased role for the Golden Eagles in his second year with the program. Appeared in 20 games with two starts. Played a total of 457 minutes. Had one goal and two assists for four points. Scored the first goal of his Cal State LA career in the 105th minute to give the Golden Eagles a 3-2 lead in a 3-3 tie against Colorado State Pueblo in NCAA national quarterfinal game on Dec. 3. Picked up his first assist on a goal by Oliver Diaz in the 23rd minute of a 3-1 win over Point Loma on Sept. 16. Recorded his second assist on a goal by Tommaso Belli in the 43rd minute of a 4-2 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. Made his first start for Cal State LA and played 27 minutes in a season-opening 1-0 win over Regis on Aug. 31. Also started and played 29 minutes in a 1-0 win at Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 8. Played a season-high 37 minutes in a 5-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 15. Earned a 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award, 2023-24 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors and 2023 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2022: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in five games and played a total of 89 minutes. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 49 minutes in a 6-0 win over Saint Martin’s on Aug. 25. Played 21 minutes and had a season-high two shots in a 4-3 win over Biola on Sept. 7. Earned a 2022-23 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award and 2022-23 CCAA All-Academic honors. Also earned 2022 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At Drexel: Appeared in six games for the Dragons and helped the team to a conference title. Earned CCA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognition.

At Hatiali Haife High School: Competed in soccer.

Personal: Son of Itay and Shelly Mordechay. Majoring in finance and law. Enjoys watching TV. Lists scoring a goal with the Israel national team as his most exciting experience in sports.
