LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2026 outdoor season at home on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles had numerous promising early-season marks as they competed at the Cal State LA Invitational on Saturday at Jesse Owens Track. Cal State LA picked up 14 victories on the day and had several competitors set personal records.

Sinaiah Pointer matched her personal best with a 44-3.25 mark while winning the shot put and took third in the discus with a throw of 130-6. Kailea Satterwhite won the discus with a mark of 153-0.

Emmerson Wiggins picked up a pair of victories, winning the 200 in 25.03 and the 400 in 58.20. Jewel Perry was second in the 400 with a time of 58.91.

Keiasja Carbins led a 1-2-3 finish for the Golden Eagles in the 100 with a time of 12.50, while Ski'lar Wallace was second in 12.77 and Sydney Holmes was third in 12.84.

Dalia Romo won the 400 hurdles with a strong early-season time of 64.26 and Samiya Stevens won the triple jump with a mark of 35-11.

Both relay teams picked up wins as the 4x100 team of Carbins, Kaliesha Bell, Keidyn Liu and Wiggins won in 48.21 and the 4x400 relay team of Wiggins, Romo, Jaylin Morgan and Perry won in 4:06.27.

Cal State LA's men's team also won both relays as Drew Hill, Wallace Aflamah, Mekhi Sanchez and Akeem Murph won in 41.61 and the 4x400 relay team of Burrell Adams, Nicholas Aninze, Jaylend Howard and Jalen Kennedy won in 3:18.85.

Aflamah won the 100 in 10.55 with Te'Quon Chatman third in 10.82. Nicholas Delgado won the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:25.12 and Aninze won the 400 hurdles in 53.18.

Cal State LA will return to action next Saturday at the Rossi Relays.
