Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Was on Cal State LA’s roster, but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles.

2024: Had a strong season in his first year with the track and field program in the spring. Had best times of 54.09 in the 400 and 55.97 in the 400 hurdles. Finished ninth in the 400 hurdles at the CCAA Championships. Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Competed in three meets. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 32:24.1 at the Highlander Invitational. Finished 76^th at the CCAA Championships.

At East Los Angeles Junior College: Won the 110 hurdles in 16.75 and the 400 hurdles in 58.30 at the  Pasadena City College Invitational in 2022. Had a best mark of 55.58 in the 400 hurdles and reached the state championships. Also had best marks of 20-0.50 in the long jump and 40-11.25 in the triple jump.

At Montebello High School: Won team MVP award and earned a first-place medal in the 300-meter hurdles, a second-place medal in the 110 hurdles and a first-place medal in the 4x400. Was a CIF qualifier.

Personal: Son of Jose Maya. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys running, listening to music, eating and watching movies. Lists qualifying for the Southern California finals in the 400 hurdles, 4x400 relay and the triple jump competing in multiple events at the Southern California finals as his most exciting experience in sports.
