Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Had an outstanding season for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall. Was the team’s No. 1 runner in all six meets, Had a best 8,000-meter time of 26:20.9 at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational. Was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Runner of the Week after placing 26^th out of a field of 157 runners. Finished 49^th at the CCAA Championships with a time of 26:49.0 over 8,000 meters and placed 114^th at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 33:02.8 over 10,000 meters.

At Victor Valley College: Earned a conference medal by finishing eighth in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference and finished 98^th in state in cross country. Had a best time of 21:53.4 over four miles in 2024. Had best marks of 1:58.96 in the 800, 3:58.63 in the 1,500, 8:53.34 in the 3,000 and 15:34.73 in the 5,000 in track and field.

At Oak Hills High School: Competed in soccer, cross country and track and field. Was a three-time Most Valuable Runner and competed on the varsity teams in all three sports.

Personal: Son of Severo and Elizabeth Duarte. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys video games, soccer and reptiles. Lists traveling, food, team memories, top finishes, scenery and locations as his most exciting experiences in sports.
