Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall in his first year with the program. Ran in five meets for the Golden Eagles. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 30:03.10 at The Master’s Invitational. Finished 96^th at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 31:03.4 over 8,000 meters.

At Beaumont High School: Earned the school’s Spirits of Sports Award, the Joe Reynolds Outstanding Senior Award, the 2024-25 Cross Country Cougar Award and the Newcomer of the Year Award. Had a best three-mile time of 16:08.1 in cross country in 2024. Had best times of 2:05.25 in the 800, 4:33.79 in the 1,600 and 9:58.86 in the 3,200 in track and field. Competed in soccer, cross country and track and field.

Personal: Son of Froylan Mendoza and Idali Lopez. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys playing sports and watching sports. Lists achieving the goals he’s been working very hard for as his most exciting experience in sports.
