Cal State LA Athletics

2022: Had another outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Was one of only three players to start all 20 games for the Golden Eagles and was fourth on the team with 1,338 minutes played. Had two goals and four assists for eight points. Notched the game-tying goal in the 57^th minute and then assisted on the game-winner in a 4-3 win over Biola on Sept. 7. Also had the first goal in a 2-1 win over Sonoma State in a CCAA Tournament game on Nov. 4. Had assists in three of the first four games of the season. Played a season-high 80 minutes in a 2-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the CCAA Tournament championship game on Nov. 6. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honorable mention. For his career, appeared in 77 games with 30 starts. Played a total of 3,701 minutes. Had three goals and 11 assists for 17 points.

2021: Had another impactful season for the national champions. Appeared in all 23 games and started four times. Played a total of 999 minutes. Had one assist and one point. Picked up an assist on a goal by Morten Bjoershol in the 70^th minute of a 4-2 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game on Nov. 12. Made his first start of the season in a 2-0 win at Concordia on Sept. 15 and played 44 minutes. Was a steady presence in all five of Cal State LA’s NCAA Tournament games, playing at least 38 minutes in each game. That included 47 key minutes in the Golden Eagles’ 1-0 win over Charleston in the national championship game on Dec. 11.

2020: Earned 2020-21 California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic honors. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019: Showed tremendous improvement for the Golden Eagles and had an increased role on the team. Appeared in all 23 games and started six times. Played a total of 1,064 minutes. Had one goal and three assists for five points. Scored his first career goal for the Golden Eagles late in the first half of a 3-0 win at San Francisco State on Nov. 7. Picked up an assist on a game-tying goal in the 85^th minute by Daniel Simonis in a 1-1 tie at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 17. Also had an assist on the game-winning goal by Morten Bjoershol late in the first half of a 2-1 victory at Humboldt State on Nov. 9. Picked up an assist on a game-tying goal by Carl Solli in a 1-1 tie against Cal Poly Pomona in the CCAA Tournament championship game on Nov. 17. Made his first career start for Cal State LA and played 57 minutes in a 4-0 win over Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 5.

2018: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 11 games and played in all four postseason games for Cal State LA. Had three assists and a total of three points. Played a total of 300 minutes. Made his first career appearance and had an assist in a 5-1 win over Humboldt State on Sept. 21. Had a pair of assists in an 8-1 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 4.

2017: Did not compete in any games for the Golden Eagles and was a redshirt.

At Cathedral High School: Earned first-team All-CIF and first-team All-League honors. Named to the All-Tournament team at the Lotto Showcase. Was on the “B” Honor Roll for two years and the “A” Honor Roll for one semester.

Personal: Son of Andy and Miriam Garcia. Pursuing a Master’s degree in business administration. Enjoys golf and hanging out with friends. Lists winning the national championship with Cal State LA as his most exciting experience in sports.
