Cal State LA Athletics

2016: Made contributions for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in seven games and started four times. Hit .105 with two hits in 19 at bats. Had one run batted in and scored two runs. Went 1-for-5 and scored a run in his Cal State LA debut and first start in an 8-2 win at California Baptist on Feb. 4. Went 1-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI at Point Loma on Feb. 13. 

At East Los Angeles College: Earned second-team All-Conference honors. Hit .252 as a sophomore with 35 hits in 139 at bats. Had one home run, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored. Hit .282 as a freshman with 41 hits in 142 at bats. Had 21 RBI and 22 runs scored.

At Gladstone High School: Had a high-school batting average of .544. Earned All-Montview League honors in two seasons. Also played football in high school and was an All-CIF quarterback. Was the Most Valuable Player of the Montview League and earned All-Area first-team honors.

Personal: Son of Luis and Susana Amezquita. Majoring in business. Enjoys surfing, snowboarding, dirt bike riding and hiking. Lists winning the first CIF playoff game in 37 years at Gladstone High School and going to the playoffs as a freshman in junior college as his most exciting experiences in sports.
