At UC Santa Barbara: Was a redshirt in the 2009 season.
At Taft College: Was named the Central Valley Conference Most Valuable Player in 2008 and earned first-team All-Conference honors. Was a member of Taft’s 2007 California Community College Men’s Soccer state championship team in 2007. Was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year and earned first-team All-Conference honors.
At Lancaster High School: Earned first-team All-League honors as a senior and second-team honors as a junior. Was named the team’s Best Defensive Player as a junior and senior.
Personal: Son of Paul and Nancy Rivas. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys swimming. Lists winning the California state championship with Taft College in 2007 as his most exciting experience in sports.
