2010: Battled through injuries most of the season, but had a second strong campaign for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Appeared in seven games with two starts. Played a total of 195 minutes. Played a season-high 48 minutes in his first appearance of the season at Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 24. Made his first start of the season and played 32 minutes in a 1-0 win at Chico State on Oct. 3. For his career, appeared in 30 games with 25 starts. Played a total of 2,188 minutes. 

2009: Enjoyed an outstanding first season with the Golden Eagles. Earned second-team Daktronics All-West Region honors and second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association recognition. Started all 23 games for Cal State L.A. and played a total of 1,993 minutes. Helped solidify a defense that was one of the nation’s best. Was key part of a defense that allowed only 20 goals all season and permitted one or fewer goals 20 times, including eight shutouts.

At University of Bayreuth: Was on a team that advanced to the national championship game.

At Gymnasium OG: Competed in soccer.

Personal: Son of Bruno and Dora Volk. Majoring in business administration. Enjoys volleyball and walking on the beach. Lists playing in a lot of international tournaments as his most exciting experience in sports.
