2009: Had an outstanding season with the Golden Eagles and completed a tremendous four-year career with the program. Appeared and started all 23 games for the Golden Eagles and played a total of 1,598 minutes. Had eight goals and two assists for 18 points. Was second on the team in goals and points. Had a historic night in a first-round NCAA playoff game against Cal State San Bernardino. Recorded a three-goal hat trick, including a late score that broke a 3-3 tie in a 5-3 victory. Had the game-winning goal and an assist in a season-opening 2-1 win over Hawaii-Hilo on Aug. 29. Also had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 18. Also had goals in a 3-2 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 13, in a 4-0 win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 16 and a 2-1 win over Seattle Pacific on Oct. 21. For his career, appeared in 83 games and started 53 times. Played a total of 5,192 minutes. Â
2008: Had his most productive season in his third year with the Golden Eagles. Scored a pair of goals and added two assists for a total of six points. Appeared in 18 games and started one game against Cal State Dominguez Hills in the NCAA West Region championship game on Nov. 15. Played a total of 736 minutes. Scored the first goal of his Cal State L.A. career and added an assist in a 7-1 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Oct. 5. Also notched the final goal in a 4-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 26. Picked up his second assist on Derrek Horn’s game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 24. Made the Golden Eagles’ second kick in a 5-4 shootout win over Sonoma State in the NCAA Division II playoffs on Nov. 13 that advanced the Golden Eagles into the regional championship game.

2007: Had another solid season for the Golden Eagles as a sophomore. Appeared in 19 games and started six times. Played a total of 907 minutes. Started the first five games of the season and picked up another start in the regular-season finale at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 29. Helped a defense that allowed only 22 goals all season and recorded seven shutouts. Team allowed one or fewer goals in 13 of the 19 matches he played in last season.

2006: Made an impressive debut for the Golden Eagles as a freshman. Started all 23 games and helped solidify a defense that allowed only 36 goals in 23 games. Played a total of 1,951 minutes. Picked up the first point of his Cal State L.A. career when he assisted on a goal in a 3-0 victory at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 1.
At Sweetwater Union High School: Competed in soccer, cross country and track and field. Was named to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic first team. Also earned first-team All-League honors and was the team’s Most Valuable Player in soccer, cross country and track and field.
Personal: Son of Ricardo and Josefina Gomez. Majoring in civil engineering. Enjoys running, cooking and watching sports. Lists playing soccer at the university level as his most exciting experience in sports.
